Message from the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Manipur
The Cooperative Movement in Manipur has a rich legacy of promoting collective growth, economic empowerment, and social equity. Rooted in the principles of self-help, mutual assistance, and democratic functioning, cooperative societies continue to play a vital role in strengthening the rural and urban economy of the State.
The Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies is committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficient service delivery in the cooperative sector. Through effective implementation of the Manipur Co-operative Societies Act, 1976 and other relevant laws, the Department strives to create an enabling environment for the sustainable development of cooperative institutions.
In recent years, emphasis has been laid on modernization, digital transformation, capacity building, and improved governance practices. Initiatives such as database development, online service delivery, and enhanced monitoring mechanisms are being undertaken to make cooperative institutions more robust and responsive.
I urge all cooperative societies, stakeholders, and citizens to actively participate in strengthening the cooperative movement and contribute towards inclusive and sustainable development of Manipur.
Together, let us build a stronger cooperative ecosystem for a better future.
